The aggressive approach has ensured batters breach their fifty-run mark in record balls. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has also witnessed several quick-fire knocks.

Yashasvi Jaiswal holds the record for scoring the fastest fifty in the league’s history. The left-hander reached the fifty-run mark in just 13 balls while playing for the Rajasthan Royals in 2023.

Except for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala, players have ed at least one half-century in 25 or fewer balls for other IPL teams. Mahela Jayawardene scored the fastest fifty for the Kochi team off 30 balls against Mumbai and Punjab in 2011.

When Chris Gayle completed his fifty in 17 balls against the Pune Warriors, he went on to hammer the quickest ton in the league.

Jake Fraser-McGurk is the only player to complete multiple fifties in 15 or fewer balls for the same IPL team. The Australian batter took exactly 15 balls to reach the fifty-run mark in two matches for Delhi Capitals in 2024.

Suresh Raina’s 16-ball fifty is the fastest in an IPL Playoff match. The southpaw was playing for the Chennai Super Kings against Kings XI Punjab in the 2014 Qualifier 2.
