Key Insights – The Mid-Innings Power-Hitters
Three batters – Sunil Narine, Phil Salt, and Virender Sehwag – have a strike rate of 170 or more in the middle overs in the IPL. Among them, Narine has the best, striking at 177.81.
Over 15 batters have struck at 150 or more between the seventh and 16th over in the IPL.
Sehwag has recorded the highest strike rate in the middle overs in an IPL season. He struck at 217.47 while scoring 224 runs from 103 balls in 2011.
Glenn Maxwell is the only batter to strike above 190 in the middle overs in two seasons. He had strike rates of 192.82 and 192.36 in the 2014 and 2017 editions, respectively.
