Key Stats

In the 2021/22 season, Ben McDermott became the first player to score two consecutive centuries in BBL. He also tops the BBL’s centuries list.

Though two batsmen from Hobart Hurricanes, D’Arcy Short and Matthew Wade, topped the run-scoring chart that year, the team couldn’t reach the finals of the 2018/19 season.

In fact, except for the Sydney Sixers duo, James Vince and Josh Philippe, no other batter in the above list has ended up as a champion in the respective seasons.

Stoinis, Short, and (Alex) Hales made it twice on this list.

Stoinis also tops the most 50+ runs scored in a single BBL season. He was phenomenal in the 2019/20 season, making 7 50+ scores, including a century.

Short made 572 runs in 11 innings in the 2017/18 season at an average of 57.20 – the highest seasonal average for any player who scored 500+ runs in the edition. And the English opener, Alex Hales, in the 2020/21 season for Sydney Thunder, tops the strike rate chart for the same group.
