Dwayne Bravo and Harshal Patel hold the t record for the most wickets in a single IPL season. Both bowlers took 32 wickets each, although Bravo did so in 2013, while Patel emulated the feat in 2021.
Bravo and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the only two bowlers to emerge as the lead wicket-takers in two IPL seasons. Apart from the 2013 edition, Bravo also topped the chart in 2015 with 26 scalps. Bhuvi, on the other hand, did so in successive seasons in 2016 (23 wickets) and 2017 (26 wickets).
Bravo and Kagiso Rabada are the only two bowlers to take 25 or more wickets in two IPL editions. While Bravo was the first to achieve the feat, Rabada imitated it in back-to-back editions in 2019 (25 wickets) and 2020 (30 wickets) for Delhi Capitals.
Three bowlers from Gujarat Titans (GT) picked up more than 25 wickets each in the 2023 edition. This is the only instance of three bowlers from a single team taking 25 or more wickets in a single IPL season. Mohammed Shami (28), Mohit Sharma (27), and Rashid Khan (27) were the top wicket-takers for GT in 2023. In fact, Shami even won the Purple Cap that season.
James Faulkner is the only bowler to take two five-wicket hauls in a single IPL season. Ten of his 28 wickets in 2013 alone came through two five-fors (5/20 and 5/16) picked up against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Jaipur and Hyderabad, respectively.
